Guiding
You may be afraid that you are traveling to a country that does not speak your first language. Well that is not a reason to hold you back from doing that tour you have been saving for, for a very longtime.
Most important and efficient is the second bullet point because these days there are many guides learning different languages and can interpret for you.
TENTS THE WAY TO GO
You may be afraid that you are traveling to a country that does not speak your first language. Well that is not a reason to hold you back from doing that tour you have been saving for, for a very longtime.
- You can either choose to learn the basic words in a particular language and travel with someone who can interprete for you
- Or you can ask for a guide who speaks your language when booking a safari
- You can also buy a small book that has easy translations that you will learn in a very short while
Most important and efficient is the second bullet point because these days there are many guides learning different languages and can interpret for you.
TENTS THE WAY TO GO
You will definitely want to try the tents this time. They may not be as spacious...well you could get the spacious ones at various lodges but those do not give you the real feeling of the wild. As for that tent that definitely has a mosquito net and just has your space. In most national parks there are some that you can hire if you do not want to bother yourself with carrying one.
Trust me you will be fascinated by the sound of a hippo grazing outside your room or better still a wart hog taking a good rest or an elephant passing by. Well maybe not so close for the elephant but maybe hearing it cry would be much less scary.
Tips...carry a good repellant and ask for a tent with a mosquito net.
How To Plan 2012 Travel to Uganda and Rwanda
- Check out the seasons in the year through various weather channels or by simply goggling information on the weather on the country of your destination. You do not want to end up traveling for a birding safari in the rainy season.
- Book the tour at least 6 months in advance especially if it is in July, August, November or December.
- Make deposits to book permits in time i.e Chimpanzee Permits, gorilla permits, fishing permits
- If you have any friends you can convince to join the tour, do so because it is most likely that the price of the tour will be cheaper.
- Have many options for your safari just in case you opt for an expensive place you can choose the cheaper option
- Save up for a camera that will keep many of the wonderful memories of that tour that you have been planning to for
